If you turn on the tv and watch the news you are hearing all about the swine flu. Many people I know are concerned about this flu. What is happening is that the enemy is using the gateway of fear to help spread this virus. I want to remind everyone that as believers we do not participate with the things that affect this world, for we have the blood of Jesus covering us. Let’s take a look at Exodus 12:12-13…
“12 ‘For I will pass through the land of Egypt on that night, and will strike all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgment: I am the LORD. 13 Now the blood shall be a sign for you on the houses where you are. And when I see the blood, I will pass over you; and the plague shall not be on you to destroy you when I strike the land of Egypt.”
The blood is a sign that plagues have to pass over us. It does not have the authority to touch you. Unless you give it that authority. Let’s take Job for example in Job 3:25…
“For the thing which I greatly feared is come upon me, and that which I was afraid of is come unto me.”
He opened the door to fear, and he was tremendously affected by it. As believers we can not open the door to fear, if we do we give it the authority to come into our house. We don’t have to worry about any of these things going on in the world because we have promises from God. Let’s take a look at some examples…
“No evil shall befall you, Nor shall any plague come near your dwelling;” Psalm 91:10
“If you will diligently listen to the voice of the Lord your God, and do that which is right in his eyes, and give ear to his commandments and keep all his statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you that I put on the Egyptians, for I am the Lord, your healer.” Exodus 15:26
“Do not be afraid of sudden terror or of the ruin of the wicked, when it comes, for the Lord will be your confidence and will keep your foot from being caught.” Proverbs 3:25-26
“But whoever listens to me will dwell secure and will be at ease, without dread of disaster.” Proverbs 1:33
We can live securely and be at ease because we are not participators in the disasters of this world; we are thriving abundantly in the Kingdom! If you have had any fear or anxiety before concerning this plague I suggest that you take these scriptures and meditate them, and close the door to all anxiety and fear. Think on your promises! God bless!!
