It’s time for healing Pt. 2…

God is looking for His body to be whole, but if there are sick body parts then it cannot function as it was intended to. Many of us as Christians have learned the principles of faith, we confess, we speak, we stand on the Word, we are told we have to be strong. We are not supposed to let our flesh influence us or our emotions take control. So we go forward sometimes burying those things that have damaged us in the past, never dealing with what happened, just trying to push it deep hoping it would just disappear. The times that you were abused by your parent, raped by someone you knew. Maybe you grew up with alcoholics or drug attics, maybe you grew up without a parent, you might have been abandoned and rejected. Over the years those situations might have caused low self esteem, and caused you to act out because of the pain. Since you got born again it’s gotten so much better, and you’ve been progressing, but there is still something inside that is not going away, a pain that you hide from everyone else because you are a believer now and you are not supposed to feel things like that anymore because you don’t want people to think you are weak, or you are not in faith.

I want to tell each of you today that if you desire to fulfill the full potential within you and progress into all of those things that God has for you, then you have to heal. It’s time to stop trying to cast away the symptoms that have popped up that are steaming from these issues such as depression, weight gain, sickness, etc., and it’s time to get to the root of the issue.

Matthew 15:13 makes a promise…

He answered, “Any plant that my heavenly Father did not plant will be uprooted.”

God will root out anything in you that He did not plant. That means any seed of anger, bitterness, hatred, unforgivness, abuse, addiction, pain, unworthiness, unrighteousness, self-consciousness, etc. anything that is not of God will be rooted out if you allow God to do it. If you come before Him honestly and truthfully with what is on your heart. It says in Psalm 147:3…

He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.

He will heal your broken heart. He will make you whole so that you can move on. So that you can think about them, or look those people in the face that hurt you, and you will not be affected, so that you can speak their name and not cringe, so that you can move forward. He will strip you of all of the old garments that you used to wear and put on you the robe of righteousness, the garment of praise. You will be able to stand with your head held high. You will be able to look at yourself in the mirror without averting your eyes. You will be able to walk with confidence, with boldness, because the weight of the past will no longer hold you back. It’s time to make that step, it’s time to get real before God, and put it all out there at His feet holding nothing back. Allow Him to uproot those things within you so that you can look forward and follow this scripture…

“Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 3:13-14

It’s time to move on from those things that are behind us, not only for ourselves, but for our families, and for all of the people we are called to help. How can we help anyone else if we are sick ourselves?

I want to recommend a book to you all, it is called Hinds feet on high places by Hannah Hurnard, it is an awesome book. I recommend you read it as the Holy Spirit wills. If He tells you to read straight through then do so, if He tells you to stop at certain places, then stop and continue when He tells you to start again. That is what He did with me and as I read this book I went on a journey with the character that helped to bring healing to me and take me to a new place. God bless!
