I want to focus on healing for a little while. God has really laid this on my heart, that there are many hurting people out there, both in the body and in the world that need healing. So today this came on my heart and I wanted to share it with you all. God bless…
They lied to you
They talked about you
They called you out of your name
They hit you when they should have loved you
They rejected you when they should have held you
They abandoned you when they should have been there for you
What they did to you left deep wounds in your heart
Left deep wounds on your body
They were supposed to protect you
They were supposed to encourage you
They were supposed to help you
They were supposed to teach you
They were supposed to comfort you
They were supposed to love you
But instead…
They molested you
They raped you
They beat you
They controlled you
They told you that you were worthless
They told you that you would amount to nothing
They were drunk
They were strung out
They used you
They lied to you
They manipulated you
They cheated on you
You gave them your heart and they trampled on it
You trusted them and they betrayed you
You let them in and they tried to destroy you
But know it was all about them
It had nothing to do with you
It was…
Their feelings
Their needs
Their desires
Their disappointments
Their hurts
What their father did to them
What their mother did to them
What their uncle did to them
What their girlfriend did to them
For all the people that hurt them
They took it out on you
All you ever wanted from them was love and protection
Instead you got pain
It caused low self-esteem
Caused you to do things to harm yourself and sometimes others
Eating disorders
Drugs
Alcohol
Sex
Gangs
Violence
Etc.
Because of what happened you became
Disconnected and detached
Or
Clingy and needy
Either pushing people away
Or having to surround yourself with people
So that you could feel like you were worth something
I can’t take back what happened to you
I can’t change the past
But I can stand in the gap and apologize for everyone that ever hurt you
For everything they have ever done to you
I apologize for all of the injustices done to you
All of the hurtful words they spoke
All of the unspeakable actions they committed against you
For the lack of compassion and love in their hearts
I am here today to tell you that
You are strong
You are courageous
You are worth something
What they did
Did not break you
You are here as living proof of that
It can no longer hold you back
They put you in chains
But here is the key…
Forgiveness
Forgiving not only them
But also yourself
It was not your fault
There was nothing you did to cause their behavior
Use the key
Be free
Free to live
Free to love
Free to experience life
Free to be whom you were created to be
Free to walk in your calling
Free to live out your dreams
Be free
Be whole
Be healed
What they did can no longer control you
It can no longer affect you
It can no longer torment you
It can no longer harm you
Today you have been released
Today start to discover who you are
Not who anyone else told you that you are
But who God says you are
Look in the mirror and see a true reflection
