Have you loved on God lately…

As I was driving today I was listening to a message as I heard the speaker go into prayer and he took time to give praise to God because as believers that’s what we are taught to do, to give thanksgiving and praise before you ask God for anything, and he praised God for about a minute and then went into asking God for the things that were needed. Immediately a sadness came over me and I said “Daddy, I am so sorry” and I apologized to Him because many of us have forgotten to love on God. We have become selfish in our relationship with God, we are so busy seeking God for what we need, or the needs of others, that we have not stopped to take the time to see what God needs, what are His desires, what is on His heart. Instead of asking God for something have you asked Him the question. What can I do for you Father? How can I show my love to you? What is on your heart God? How can I serve you? If my husband came home everyday and I just said “Hi honey, now we need this, and this, and that, and the other. Ok thanks, talk to you later,” and I did that day in and day out, but I didn’t take the time to see what he needed, or take the time to love on him, or do things for him, how would that make him feel? He would probably feel used, unloved, and insignificant. If we wouldn’t treat our loved ones like that should we treat our creator like that? The one who first loved us (1 John 4:19). The one that forgave us when we were in our mess (Colossians 2:13). The one who forgot all of our past mistakes (Isaiah 43:25). The one that has given us abundant life (John 10:10). The one who has given us the air to breath, the animals, the mountains, the seas, the sunsets, and the sunrises. The one who has given us everything. How can we not take the time to love on Him. How can we not take the time to see what is on His heart, to see what He needs from us. Deutoronomy 6:5 AMP says…

“And you shall love the Lord your God with all your [mind and] heart and with your entire being and with all your might.”

That means we are to be loving God with every fiber or our being. After I’m seeing all this I asked God, what can I do for you to show you how much I love you, and He said to me…”just worship”. Worshiping God is like singing a love song to your significant other or reading them a poem, or showing them affection. Worship is a pure act of our love towards God. I encourage each of us if you are not already to take the time to just worship God. Do not go into prayer about anything else. Just love on God, show Him that you are here and how much He means to you. Show Him that He is amazing! Sing a love song unto Him. Just you and Him in that secret place. It’s time people of God to get back to our first love! Remember just as much as we desire to be loved by others, God desires our love also. God bless!!
