Making Decisions out of Emotions

Luke 22: 41-42 (KJV)
And he was withdrawn from them about a stone’s cast, and kneeled down, and prayed, Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.

How many times have we made decisions solely based on how we were feeling at that moment? The above scriptures speak on Jesus, right before he was taken away. Just imagine if Jesus would have backed out. He knew what he was going to have to go through, all of the physical, emotional, and spiritual pain. What would have happened if Jesus would have let his natural emotions make the decision for him, and he told the Father to send a chariot and a legion of angels from Heaven to come and pick him up. If that would have happened, me and you would be in a terrible place right now.

We can’t let out emotions dictate our decisions, lives, or situations. Just as Jesus did, we have to let Gods will be done in our lives. In all of our decision making, whether big or small we should always revert back to our Father. Even though something may look good, that doesn’t mean its God’s will. Just because you’re getting what may seem to be a good deal on that new house, doesn’t mean its God’s will. Even though that girl you like is pleasing to the eye, it doesn’t mean that she is the one God has planned for your life.

When someone or something gets us upset, don’t be so quick vindicate yourself, you might actually do more damage than intended.

Proverbs 4:7
Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.

It’s time to get back to God, and start including Him in all of our affairs. I promise you if we start doing this, the negative by products of some of the bad decisions made will no longer be a problem.

Proverbs 14:12
Some people think they are doing right but in the end it leads to death. (NCV)

I pray that this has been a blessing to you.
