“In the morning, O LORD, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait in expectation.” ~Psalm 5:3
Many times when we wake up we are on a mission. We have a lot to do in a short period of time. We have to get ourselves ready for school or work, and some of you have to get the kids up, fed, dressed, and out the door. But as the Holy Spirit led me to this scripture I know God was saying something through His Word.
As you can see every morning the Psalmist spent time with God, he speaks to God, and he sends up his prayers and petitions and expects God to move. God is showing us through this scripture how important it is that we get up and we spend some time with him in the morning. I’m sure the Psalmist was tired sometimes, or busy with whatever he had to do for that day, but he took time every morning to spend with God. God is asking us to do the same. He wants to be the first one we speak to in the morning. He’s right there when we wake up saying, “Good morning my son/daughter,” but do we speak back to Him, or do we ignore Him because we have too much to do?
God knows that we are going out into the busy, hectic world each day, He desires for us to stop and spend time with Him before we step out into it, so that He can reveal some things to us that we need to know before hand. Maybe He’ll give you a word of encouragement for because something might come your way later that day. Maybe He’ll give you a word of wisdom because you will have to make an important decision that day. Whatever it may be God desires to conversate with you before you go out into the world.
Let’s use an analogy to show God’s desire to spend time with you…If you were/are married and you woke up in the morning beside your spouse and didn’t say anything to them because you were to busy or to tired how do you think that would make them feel? It is the same for God, He desires to spend that time with us right away, He is waiting to hear from us, and to speak to us.
I just wanted to encourage you all (and myself), tomorrow when you wake up say “Good morning Father! I love you Father! Thank you for this new day! What are we going to do today? Etc…” God wants me to tell each of you reading this, that as you do this you are going to see something new manifest, and He wanted me to give you this scripture in closing. God bless…
